The musical project “ON” was born for the pleasure of it, in an atmosphere mixing playful reflection and clear-eyed introspection, with ironic and nostalgic glances at everyday life. As singer and lyricist, Gérald Métroz works with composers Alain Laeri and Julien Pouget on songs of an unexpected vein — frank, raw, appealing without ever being coy.
In this EP he takes up the pen and lends his voice to evoke his childhood and his memories, but above all his vision of a world whose codes and contours he had to tame in his own way, in order to survive it and, above all, to live well in it.

Gérald Métroz lost both legs at the age of two and a half, in a train accident at Sembrancher station. After walking for more than thirty years on prostheses, he travelled the world in a wheelchair as an elite athlete, journalist, speaker, manager of professional hockey players, writer and musician.

At the age of two and a half, Gérald Métroz's life changed course: he lost both legs to a train, before the eyes of his father, the stationmaster. The film takes us from Sembrancher, where the accident happened, to Münster in Germany, to the orthopaedic hospital where he took his first steps on artificial legs. He has learned to accept himself as life shaped him and no longer wears his prostheses: in letting go of appearances, he gained his freedom.
